Runner's Hot Effort
Sixty-four year old Stewart Vance, of Sydney, en route to London to tackle marathon races in Britain, caused a sensation when he covered three miles along the Colombo foreshore in oppressive heat, attired in a sweat suit. "I lost perspiration by the pint," said Vance, "but soon cooled off in the ship's salt water tank."
