Bedside Gardens

Sixty little gardens are about to bloom on the bedside tables in the Children's TB cardiac,, and orthopoedic wards at Bellvue Hospital in New York City because of the kindness of a local citizen who has donated flower bulbs. Production and Supply Service volunteers of the New,York Chapter of Red Cross have helped the children plant them in transparent glass mugs with shining coloured shells. Janie and Johnny and Sally and Sue are fascinated to watch the first shoots appear. A new game is in progress called 'Betcha mine's blue." But one little girl says, "I don't want to betcha—l want to be surprised."
