Short, Busy Visit Of Bishop Of Waiapu

Rt. Rev. N. A. Lesser, Bishop of Waiapu, leaves Whakatane this morning at the conclusion of a visit to this parish that has lasted tince Sunday afternoon. He goes to Te Puke today. To accommodate the crowd of over 200 which flocked to the confirmation service at Whakatane on Sunday evening it was necessary to take down a moveable wall between the vestry and the Church, proper. The Bishop conducted . another well-attended confirmation service at Matata on Monday and was the guest of honour at a garden party at Edgecumbe yesterday. He was guest speaker at the Church of England Men's Society meeting last evening.
