Golden Wedding Anniversary

, MR & MRS J. H. MAGEE A pleasant function took place in the Thornton Hall on Monday evening when Mr and Mrs J. H. Magee, wellknown and respected residents of Edgeciimbe for the past nineteen years and formerly of Taranaki, entertained a large number of guests at the celebration of their golden wedding anniversary. Mrs Magee was in a navy frock, beaded in white and wore a shoulder spray of orchids. The evening passed pleasantly in dancing, music being supplied by the Rhythm Vendors orchestra. ! luring the supper interval, a pretty little ceremony took place when Mrs J. Sykes, "of Taneatua, eldest granddaughter, presented her mother with a beautiful bouquet. Mr A. Turnbull, of Ohope, proposed the health of the happycouple, Mr Magee suitably replying. A clever exhibition of club springing by Mrs B. Bullen, of Auckland, was an unusual feature thoroughlyenjoyed, r Earlier in the evening Mr and Mrs Magee, surrounded by all their family but the eldest daughter, sat down to a dinner, Mr O. V. 'Marx, son-in-law, proposing the sptcial toast.

There are fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. .
