Changed Name Brings Changed Luck

As a saying the proverb about “never changing horses in midstream” is quite popular and possibly quite justified, but not in all cases. This was proved in Wanganui recently by three local residents who have formed a syndicate in pursuit of the trophies offered by overseas lotteries. For a long time they have, used a syndicate name of “J.J.G.” formed of the initials of their Christian names. Tickets marked “J.J.G.” have returned the magnificent sum of £5. So the syndicate decided to rename themselves, eventually, settling on “Black Bess,” the nickname of a mutual female acquaintance. jLast week they won a £IOO prize.
