A most enojoyable evening was spent in the T’aneatua hall when the Taneatua Community players presented their concert to a packed house. Every item was well received and presented and the enthusiastic reception accorded testified to the appreciation of the audience. The opening item, “To a Miniature” with Miss V. Print as the miniature in a golden frame and chorus in full evening dress presented a charming, picture. The chorus sang “To a Miniature,” “Empire Waltz” and “Anniversary Song.” A cowboy set with music by the camp fire was presented by the chorus with the feature “Red River Valley” by Misses B. Wilson, L. Shaw, J. Anderson and A. Wilson.

Three dances Ballet, Irish Jig and Highland Fling danced by Heta Metai were vei’y much appreciated by the audience. Enjoyable items were also given by Terry Warner, piano and patter, while Wano, billed as the “Street Singer,” sang “O Sole Mio” and “Paper Doll” to guitar accompaniment.' 1 The outstanding item was entitled “Gay Nineties” and consisted of “Six Masters” Greg Grey at the piano, A. Green tavern keeper and O. Oden, George, Tom and Roger Hill. This item showed originality and was well carried out. A musical mime entitled “The Marriage Bureau” acted by Mrs Gardner, Misses I. Doran, E. Cross and Messrs George Hill, O. Oden, A. Green and G. Grey was very amusing.

Members of the Taneatua Women’s Institute presented the play “The Late Miss Cordell” with which they won the Drama section at the recent Drama Festival.

The concluding number on the programme was “Hawaii” by the chorus with Miss A. Wilson as solo dancer and R. Hill narrator. At the conclusion of a very delightful evening’s entertainment opportunity was taken to present a box of flowers, from the players to Mrs E. Semmens as an appreciation of her work in producing the show. The Drama group also presented a posy as a token of their gratitude. Mr Goodhew, chairman of the War Memorial Committee, expressed his thanks to all who had contributed to the success of the evening.
