Charming Gesture
Charming gesture at the civic reception to Their Excellencies was the presentation of an orchid bouquet to Lady Freyberg. The orchids were locally grown. The Mayoress, Mrs Barry, on behalf of the Borough, made the presentation to Her Excellency. Lady Freyberg made a delightful picture as she stepped on to the (lawn. She was becomingly gowned in a model frock of dove grey with the skirt fully pleated. Completing her ensemble was an exceptionally smart grey toque with eye-veil. She carried a. silver fox fur. Mrs Barry was dressed in soft beige with contrasting accessories.
