Rod And Gun Club’s Half-Yearly Championship Shoot at Paroa
At the week-end the Whakatane County Rod and Gun Club held its half-yearly Club championship shoot at Paroa. A ! representative gathering of Club members attended. W. Hume won the senior championship for the Lodge Cup, with P. Mayo as runner-up. Details:—
EyeVopener, 10 birds: J. Hayward. ,J. Butler, W. Mayo, A. Wansbone, 9 equal, divided the stake. Sweepstake, 10 birds: J. McLeod, W. Hume, A. W. Jones, 9 equal, divided stake.
Ten guineas Trophy Shoot: J. McLeod 1; W. Hume, P. Mayo, J. Tebbutt, equal (Mayo took second money on the shoot off* with Hume placed ft third). Senior Club Championship (Lodge Cup J: W. Hume 1, P. Mayo 2, J. Tebbutt 3.
Novice Trophy Shoot: L. R. Cole 1, J. B. Rivett 2. Skeet Championship (Kerr Bros’ Cup): J. McLeod .1, A. Wansbone 2, V. Timbs 3. Rivett Buttons teams challenge shoot: A. Mitchell, V. Timbs, P. Mayo, G. Pulis, E. Le Lievre,* 17, 1. Three other teams captained by W r Hume, W. C. Davies and J. Tebbutt scored 14 each.
Sweepstake, 5 birds: J. Plamus, R. Julian, J. McLeod. All shot the possible and divided the stake. Farewell Sweepstake, 5 v birds: A. I Wansbone, R. Julian, J. McLeod, shot 4 each and divided the stake.
