Ohope Women’s Institute Meets

Last week, members of the Ohope Women’s Institute gathered for the monthly meeting, and presided over by Mrs Sorenson, a busy afternoon was spent. After the reading of correspondence and the Federation president’s" cheery letter, it was decided to hold a card party commencing at the Hostel on October 2$ to raise further funds towards the children’s Xmas party.

Mrs Reynolds was welcomed as a new member of the Institute, and a vote of thanks for her effort was accorded Mrs White, who handed in £1 Is towards the children’s party. Mrs W. Clark also donated 10s to the fund.

An overseas parcel was balloted for, Mrs White being the successful member to secure it.

Comptitions for pikelets and Iceland poppies were won by Mrs Dickson and Mrs Critchley. After Mrs Armstrong had quickly disposed of a “bring and buy” table, afternoon tea was served, and a most enjoyable meeting closed at 4 p.m.
