Kowhai Institute
The monthly meeting of the Kowhai Women’s Institute was held..in the Methodist Hall.. It was decided that the competitions for the next meeting would be: (A) 3 plain scones, (B) fancy coat hanger and the roll call “Childhood Memories” accompanied by t a childhood photo. An interesting demonstration . of Floral Work was given by Mrs Peck. . An iced fruit cake w T as won by Mrs Drayson. Winners of other competitions follow: Felt novelty: Miss Richardson 1, Mrs Patterson 2, Mrs Drayson 3. Flowering plant: Miss Sutcliffe 1. A dainty supper was served by the hostesses.
