Edgecumbe Pig Sale On account' of the Labour Day holiday, the next- Edgecumbe Pig Sale will be held next Wednesday, October 27. Details are advertised today.—P.B.A. Flood Warnings Use of a system of signals on the fire siren for a flood warning at Whakatane is not favoured by the Fire Board, so that proposal has now been dropped. However, the postmaster, Mr S. W. Hills, has consented to co-operate in a scheme whereby the telephone exchange is to be supplied with a list of people to be called out in the event of a flood, in the order of their urgency.
