Messrs N. Matthews and C. E. Thatcher have been elected members of the Whakatane Chamber of Commerce. Mr R. Chapman, who .has been on a short business visit ?to Auckland, returned to 'Whakatane on Thursday. ■' «" Rev. W. Bower Black, LL.B., Minister of St. David’s Presbyterian Church, Auckland, has been nominated by the Presbytery of the Bay of Plenty as Moderator-Designate of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand.
