VICE VERSA DANCE AT EDGECUMBE
Comical Costumes Enhance The Fun The “Vice Versa” dance sponsored by the Edgecumbe Labour Party at the Central Theatre, Edgecumbe, on Tuesday night, proved very popular, a very large crowd gathering to participate in the fun of the evening. Quite a number had entered into the spirit of the evening, and the costumes were all very good, the “men” or ladies, of the evening, being very outstanding. The bestdressed .“lady of the evening,” a luscious blonde, sported a marvellous hairdo, and the curves—oh my! The Grand March led by Mr T. Davies and Mrs Roberts gave each one full scope to play their part, and caused much fun and amusement. Mr T. Davis was M.C. of the evening, and looked very charming in pale pink muslin and floral head dress. All was well until the dance announcements, and when his deep bass voice came over the “mike”, the crowd simply shrieked with laughter. After a very delicious home-made supper had been served, Mr Fowlds obliged with several extras, these proving very popular with the dancing throng. Later in the evening, Mr Davis made a neat speech in which, on behalf of the committee, he thanked Mrs T. Roberts for her help with the organising, and Mrs J. Jespersen and her willing helpers for their work in the supper room. The orchestra scored a good round of applause from the crowd, in appreciation of the splendid music.
