Voluntary Fire Police Sworn In

Members of No. 1 Troop, Y Squadron, Legion of Frontiersmen, gathered ,at the Whakatane Borough Council Chambers on Tuesday evening, to be formally sworn in as Fire Police, attached ’to the local Fire Brigade. Mr S. S. Shapley, J.P., performed the ceremony, and later, as chairman of the Fire Board, thanked Legion members for their public spirited attitude and promised the full co-operation of the Board.
