New Clothes For Old
Clever things can be done with a garment slightly past its prime. A shrunken -sweater or a too-small bodice top can make a short bolero jacket if the front is cut open and the edges bound. This same idea is capable of many interpretations. Contrasting piping, plain or striped ribbon, braid, or a contrasting lining in plaid or check taffeta are excellent. An old blouse can easily be revived with a panel front and collar of lace. This idea is especially good for muslin or any light cotton weave. Another simple idea is to renew yoke and sleeves with a contrasting material. Underwear which has become too small can be enlarged attractively by inserting wide ribbon or strips
