Brief Royal Visit To Matamata On Way To Rotorua

Their Majesties the King and Queen and Princess Margaret, will be in Matamata for only about ten minutes when they visit the town late on the afternoon of Saturday, March 19. There will be no welcome at the Waharoa Aerodrome either by the Matamata County or the Piako County. In fact, nobody will be allowed on the aerodrome on the day of the Royal Party’s arrival. - '. ■ They will arrive at Waharoa aerodrome by plane from Gisborne about. 4 o’clock, drive to Matamata, mount a dais outside the Town Hall and a few minutes later continue their journey to Rotorua. There will be no speeches either by the King or civil authorities, but < possibly there will be presentations made to the King, the Queen and Princess Margaret.
