WAIMANA TO HAVE OWN GUIDES AND BROWNIE PACK
Committee Elected For Early Start A well attended meeting convened by Mrs N. Potter to discuss the forming of Girl Guide and Brownie packs in Waimana decided to go ahead with the project. Mrs Stan Pearce, District Commissioner, was present from Opotiki and explained the movement quite fully and answered numerous questions. It was decided to commence Guides and Brownies, and the \folio wing committee was elected:—President, Mrs Wylde; secretarytreasurer, Mrs R. Looney; committee, Mrs T. King,. Mrs J. Boynton, Mrs Stevenson, Mrs Potter, Mrs J. Mitchell, Miss Betty Wardlaw; Leader of the Guides, Miss Alice White; Leader of the Brownies, Mrs M. King. The, committee then discussed ways and means of raising funds, and it was decided to hold a garden party at Mrs M. King’s home on October 13, where there will be bring and buy stalls, games, etc. Mrs Wylde thanked Mrs. Pearce for coming out and helping.
