Waimana Drama And Glee Club Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Women’s Institute Drama and Glee Club was held last Tuesday afternoon in the Waimana Hall. There was quite a good attendance, considering the. weather was not the best. Mrs G. Stansbury presided. A short programme of entertainment was presented by members. Mrs Hewitt most capably gave two elocutionary items entitled, “The New Look” and “No Occupation.” Vocal solos were rendered delightfully by Mrs F. Mitchell, who sang “Waltz of my Heart” and Mrs G. Mitchell, who sang “The Last Rose of Summer” and “Garden of Happiness.” A playette, “Where’s Your Father” was presented by members of the Drama, Mrs Stansbury, Mrs Hewitt and Miss A. White, and caused quite a laugh. Mrs R. Looney’s reading of Shakespeare proved quite entertaining. Community singing closed an enjoyable afternoon.
