Cure For a Sprain Put a slice of bread in vinegar and boil for 15 minutes. Apply poultice before going to bed and all pain will have gone by the morning. To Freshen Upholstery Place a large damp cloth over the furniture and beat with a light cane. The dust gathers on one side of the cloth, which can be washed and used again. Tip For Splash Mat When the wall above the wash basin gets shabby, lacquer over with enamel to match the woodwork, continuing below the basin, thus forming a square. Outline with a black line about \ inch wide. A wash with soap and water keeps it clean. To Clean Sponges Here’s how to clean sponges. Rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water. Squeeze tightly, then soak in one pint of water to which a tea- I spoon of vinegar has been added. Allow to soak for about an hour, then squeeze clean. Rinse and dry, preferably out-doors.
