Boy Swallows Bee
They say that it’s really news when a man bites a dog, but when a boy bites a bee and swallows it, it must also fall into the category of unusual news. A Waipawa school boy, B. Mauder,7 suffered this experience while riding his bicycle. A bee flew into his mouth and when in the vicinity of his tonsils, injected its sting. Medical attention was obtained, and it was at first thought that the boy’s tonsils would have to be removed, but the sting was successfully extracted. The boy experienced no serious after-effects, but he could not eat or drink for some time.
