Jerkless Trains

America’s new jerkless trains have gone into service. At a cost of 6,000,000 dollars (£2,000,000), four of the new luxury trains have been installed on the Santa Fe railway between Chicago and Los Angeles. A new type of coupler removes slack between carriages, and gets rid 'of starting jerks. A ride-stab-iliser minimises side-rolls. Each carriage bedroom has running ice water, its own radio and air-conditioning system.
