Whirinaki Bridge
' The Main Highways Board has accepted the Whakatane County Council’s offer of £35 a month hire for the Bailey Bridge across the Whirinaki stream at Galatea, dating the arrangement back to April 1 of this year.
The Council resolved to pay, but also to do all in its power to urge the Commissioner of Works to expedite his decisihon on the type of permanent bridge to be erected.
