“Pack It In Tins”
Introduced by a letter from the Awakeri Parent-Teacher Association, a brief and bright discussion on the broken bottle menace took place at yesterday’s County Council meeting. It seems some of the more irresponsible types at dances and such entertainments are not at all fussy about how they get rid of the “dead marines.” Cr R. F. Wardlaw suggested packing the beer in tins— : or adding 1/to the price, to be refunded if the bottle came- back. Others thought that wouldn’t work. Young fellows nowadays had too much money to worry about shillings, they said. It was finally agreed to pass the complaint on to the Police for aciion.
