County Rod & Gun Club Shoot: Hume’s Team Wins Buttons
A practice shoot Was held recently on the County Rod and Gun Club grounds, Paroa, when a Challenge Shoot for the J. D. Rivett Buttons was the principal event. W. Hume’s team, the holders, were successful in retaining the buttons after an exciting contest with three other teams. Results were as follows: Eye-Opener (5 birds): R. Julian 5,1; W. Kenyon, G. Pulis, P. Mayo, A. W. Jones, J. Tebutt equal 2; W. Davies 4. Sweepstake (5 birds).: P. Mayo 5, 1; J. Plamus, W. Davies, W. Mayo, J. Butler equal 2; F. Matchitt 4. Sweepstake (5 birds): W. Hume and R. Julian 5, equal 1; J. Butler and W. Mayo, equal 3. Sweepstake (10 birds):.W. Hume 10, 1; J. Tebbutt 9,2. Box Shoot (18yds): W. Hume 1. J. D. Rivett Teams Challenge Buttons: W. Hume (Capt), J. Hassett, R. Julian, J. Butler and J. Hayward 18; W. Davies (Capt), R. Ricketts, W. Kenyon, W. Mayo and L. George 17; J. Plamus (Capt), G. Pulis, J. D. Rivett, J. B. Rivett, and W. Rivett 16; J. Tebbutt (Capt), A. Jones, P. Mayo, W. Mayo and E. Malaquin 14.
