Railwayman Hurt
Mr Henry Carter, railways maintenance worker, of Edgecumbe, was brought to the District Hospital, Whakatane, on Thursday night following a jigger accident on the line near Awakaponga. It seems Mr Carter slipped off a jigger he was riding, and was -hit by another that was following. He suffered severe bruises and abrasions, but it is understood his injuries .are not serious.
