Bay Of Plenty Cricket

A Te Puke remit, that the Attrill Cup should be played for as a competition among the centres in the Bay of Plenty, each centre participating in both home and outside matches, and that the games should be worked on a points system, was received at the annual meeting of the Tauranga County Cricket SubAssociation. It was referred to the management committee. The Te Puke Club suggested that this would be more satisfactory than the present challenge system.

Miriata Shield Basketball

| Unable to play here last weekend on account of wet weather/and unable to make satisfactory arrangements this week, the Tauranga Basketball Association has decided to forgo its challenge for the Miriata Shield, recently won by Whakatane from Opotiki. That means the local girls will hold the trophy until next season. There will be no basketball here this week.
