Te Teko Women’s Division Meeting

The September meeting of the Te Teko Women’s Division of Federated Farmers was held in the Domain, with Mrs Thomas presiding over a good attendance. Earlier in the month' a letter had been received asking for a delegate to attend the meeting called in Whakatane to discuss the proposed Horticultural Show.. Mrs Balfour who attended as delegate, gave a report on the meeting and it was decided to support‘the show as fully as possible, but members did not feel that they could comply with, the request for country women to provide homemade cakes for the afternoon tea, and the secretary was instructed to write to the Show Committee to that effect. Arrangements were finalised for the Birthday Party which will be held in the Te Teko Hall on Thursday, October 14. Bifthday flowers were presented by Mrs to Mesdames Jamieson and after which Mrs Hallett gave a very interesting and instructive demonstration of felt work. The mystery parcel was won by Mrs S, Cannell and the competition winners were:— Best bloom: Mrs Butler 1, Mrs Balfour 2. Competition: Harty 1, Mrs Pryor and Mrs Buitler, equal, 2.
