This letter, addressed to the Mayor of Whakatane, has been released for publication at the suggestion of -the Borough Council:— “At the last meeting of the Do- ; minion Executive held in Wellington, reference was made to the very -valuable kind assistance and direc"tion you gave to this United Nations .Appeal for Children, and' as chairman I was requested by my Executive’s resolution to extend to you on their behalf their sincere appreciation of your co-operation and •contribution of personal effort which lias enabled this Appeal to be such ;.an outstanding success.
“In expressing this appreciation may I also ask you to please accept my own personal best wishes and ■thanks for all you have done. My '’Central Organisation has expressed its desire to be associated with the -views of the Dominion Executive and myself in this matter. “Would you kindly extend to your various committees and to those public spirited citizens who assisted, the sincere appreciation of the Patrons and New Zealand Executive for all they have done.” ~ Yours sincerely, * CHAS.
