Parent-Teacher Assn. Sees Display Of Work Of School

There was an attractive display of Art and Needlework from the Primary School at the' Parent-Teacher Association meeting on Monday night. Miss Pedersen, in introducing the needlework display, mentioned that when the girls were being taught to use sewing and knitting needles they were given something practical to make that would be of use in the home of 1 that*they could wear themselves or give as a present. The display of knitting, sewing and fancy work from Standards 3 and 4 and Forms 1 and 2 was varied and attractive and neatly finished. Mr Bryers spoke briefly on' modern teaching of aft and exhibited attractive samples of colour work from Standards 1 and 2, excellent designs for linoleum and wallpapers and plans for a kitchen from Standards 3 and 4. The work, from Forms 1 and 2 included pencil sketches, ink drawings and colour work and also a very fine collection of posters. The parents who were present greatly appreciated the opportunity of seeing the children’s work and Mr B. A. Watts, President of the Parent-Teacher Association, thanked the teachers for arranging the display.
