Cosmetics made from sea. elephants, captured in the Antarctic may soon be an exclusive fashion for Australian women. Sea elephants may also be included in margarine. 7 First experiments to see if sea elephant oil is suitable for cosmetics and edible purposes have begun in, the Defence Research and Industrial Laboratory of the Australian Department of Supply and Development in Melbourne.
