Is N.Z . Motor Works Carpenter A Peer?

There is ©very chance that a foreman carpenter employed in the Austin Distributors Federation Assembly Plant at Petone, New Zealand, may turn out to be a Peer of the Realm. A claim has been lodged by Mr Sydney Mumroe Vernon, aged 60, to be heir-presumptive to Baron Lyveden of Lyveden, Northants. According to Debrett’s Peerage, the preesnt . baron is Robert Fitz-Patijick Courtenay Vernon, aged 56, who succeeded his father to the title in 1926. The Barony was created in 1859. Mr C. F. J. Hankinson. editor Debrett’s Peerage, is quoted as having said: “I think the claimant is probably the heir.”
