MAKING IT CLEAR
Our attention has been drawn to the fact that some of our readers have misundei stood our recent notice to advertisers -and are still confused as to what is a casual advertisement and what is a replace advertisement. Casual advertisements are classified advertisements and those which are not covered by contracts. Except in the case of large-space displays, those advertisements are accepted at the Beacon OFFICE up to 4.30 p.m. each day, and between 8 am. and 8.30 a.m. on publication mornings at the Editor’s office, or by telephone. Advertisements or other items for Monday’s paper may be delivered through the letter slot in the factory door over the week-end, or telephoned between 8 and 8.30 a.m. Mondays. Sports results and other news items intended for publication on Monday should be in the letter slot in the door before 8 a.m. Monday. Sports draws, teams, or. other items for Friday’s issue, should be handed in at the editor’s office AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE on Thursday. If annual
reports of local organisations can be made available before the meetings at which they are to be presented, there will be a much better chance of publishing them at length than if they come in some time after the meeting.
