Renewing Old Frames
Old picture frames or mirror frames can be brought up to date by using a pastel-coloured distemper. Clean the frame well. Then paint it with one coat of distemper. If you like the idea of a gilt finish to the effect, wipe off a little of the distemper here and there with a clean soft rag so that a little of the original gilt of the frame shows through.
