Sombre colours—dark sage,, mole, lime greys and dark' wine, woven or worn with black—struck a Victorian note at the opening of a recent London fashion parade. The general outline of contemporary 'clothes for women is fixed. The main points are: Rounded shoulders, small but not constricted and skirts “go-as-you-please * All averaging 12in to l'4in from the ground. A new arrival for autumn was the highwayman’s cape, a voluminous cloak with double-tiered shoulder cape. Copper, cream and black were colours chosen for evening dresses made of Nottingham lace. . .
