Air-Minded Waiouru Farmer

When Mr W. R. Harding paid a recent visit to his Waiouru farm he surprised the local residents, and considerably astonished his sheep, by descending in his own aeroplane. Mr Harding, is a keen pilot and is hoping to obtain his cross-country licence very shortly. He was accompanied on the trip by Mr Delves, an instructor in flying, but he hopes before long, to make the trip “on his own bat.” The plane, a Tiger Moth, was purchased some weeks ago and Mr Harding hopes to make regular flights to and from Wanganui in the near future. That this mode of travel is a great time-saver is indicated by the fact that after lunching in Waiouru, Mr Harding and Mr Delves took cff again one hour after they had left Wanganui.*
