ROTARY’S POPULAR SGT-AT-ARMS RETIRES
Rotarian Les Brown had his last raid on the pockets of his fellowRotarians as Sergt-at-Arms at Tuesday evening’s gathering. In relinquishing the, office, he thanked all his victims for the snorting spirit in which they had accepted his “indictments” and paid their fines. During his period of office as Sergt-at-Arms, Rotarian Brown has always provided the weekly gathering with its fair quota of laughs, and though the jokes have had sufficient of a personal flavour to make them the more appreciated by Rotarians, they have always been quite free of any hurtful implications. In fact, all members, and often the victims most of all, have thoroughly enjoyed the short session of witty patter.
