Parent-Teacher Assn. Meets At Awakeri
The Awakeri Parent-Teacher Association held its monthly meeting last week, Mr Bunyan presiding, over a good attendance. The Secretary reported that there were sufficient funds in hand to purchase the sewing machine for the school and an order had been placed. A working bee to clean the school and tidy up the grounds was arranged.' The Social Committee reported that a social and dance was arranged for September 14. It was decided to have a suggestion box at future meetings, and members “ were invited to submit subjects for discussion. The president thanked Mr Anderson and his staff, also the school committee for making the School Fancy Dress Ball such a great success. During the evening- a dinner donated by Mrs Cooper, was competed for, the winner being Mrs Stewart. A very enjoyable supper, brought the evening to a close.
