Bay Of Plenty Provincial Executive Of W.D.F.F. Holds Quarterly Meeting

The quarterly meeting of the Bay of Plenty Executive was held in the County Council Charpbers last week. The president, Mrs Martin, of Opotiki, opened the meeting and welcomed all delegates. / Mrs S. Cannell gave her report as delegate to the Dominion Conference held in Dunedin. She said 500 delegates met in the Dunedin Town Hall concert chamber and their keenness to present their remits ’in a clear and businesslike' manner made the conference very worth while. The Dominion Secretary’s report showed that Women’s Division Housekeepers had worked 2172 weeks and wages paid were £6002. The four Rest Homes all showed, by the number^of guests attending, that they were a very necessary part of the organisation. Also the number of branches (616 with a membership of over 22,500) showed a substantial increase from last year. Wellington is to be the venue of the conference next year.
