Local Music Successes
Competing at the Rotorua Festival of Music, Dorothy Thompson, of Edgecumbe, and Judith Jenson, of Awakeri, gained second place in the Piano Duet under 12. Due to a hold up to a telegram Dorothy was unable to play in the Class Piano Solo under 10, the adjudicator, Mr E. R. Moss of Nelson, hearing her next day. He recommended she be awarded a Special - Merit certificate equal to second place.
