Postage Stamp Issue For Empire Games?

There may be a special commemorative issue of postage stamps for the 1950 British Empire Games. Though as far as is known no Empire country has ever made a specials issue before the Games, it is argued there is no reason why a precedent should not be set. There are comments from some people that there have been too many commemorative issues lately, and as it is there will be one in December, 1950 for the Canterbury Centennial. There was a special peace issue and this year the Otago Centennial issue, with the Royal visit issue to come- next year. The Post Office has no comment to make at this stage.
