In the senior match at the Domain pn Saturday a mediocre side representing W r combined clubs beat an Ofahuhu senior team that showed all the signs of lack of i condition. Final score was 38—8. After the bright curtain raiser, the senior game was a bit of an anticlimax. Teams: — Otahuhu: Petherbridge, Wallace, Conway, Peace, McCarthy, Edwards, Butler, French, Bennett, Ryan, Hall, Curry, Sadlier, Mason, Bentley. Whakatane: Laurie, McCready, Cave, Rutherford, Tina Riini, R. Crapp, Hurran, Semmens, Cleland, Ratahi, Gardiner, Boynton, Te Pou, Mundy. . . . Otahuhu lacked precision in the backs and lacked weight in the forwards. The local team played a mediocre game against a weak side and won on their merits onrthe day, Laurie, . Cave and Tina Riini were the pick of the backs, but, as is usual here, real combination was lacking. Hurran played his usual-' steady game. Boynton, Semmens and Cleland stood out ki the forwards. ■ The Otahuhu backs were uniformly poof, with Conway and Butler, half and centre, perhaps the best. The forwards took it rather easy. .
