From now on the siren is to be tested at that time every morning except Sundays, on which day it is felt that the sleep of the virtuous - and the hangovers of the not-so-virtuous should not be disturbed so raucously. Broadcasting All Black Tour Tentative arrangements for broadcasting commentaries on the All Blacks’ matches in South Africa next year are being planned by the National Broadcasting Service. The service’s shortwave station at 'Makara is experimenting with direct reception from the Union to determine the most favourable times and wavelengths for receiving the commentaries. Though an attempt may be made to relay direct commentaries on each match, it is possible, because of the difference in South African and New Zealand times, that the comentaries will be recorded by the service and-broad-cast at the most convenient times for the listening public.
