Truck Leaves Road At Whakatane West: Overturns
On Wednesday evening a light truck, driven by Mr Ron James, a tiler, of Rotorua, ran off the road and overturned at Whakatane West on its way from Whakatane to Rotorua. With Mr James in the truck were Messrs G. Gorbett and W. Papune, workmates of his. Neither of the passengers was hurt, but Mr James received a rather severe cut on his right wrist. Apart from a broken lamp, a crumpled guard and a broken bumper, the truck was not badly damaged. Dazzle from approaching traffic caused the driver to misjudge a bend.
