Waimana Gardening Circle

The' August meeting of the Wai-mana-Nukuhou W.I. gardening circle was held at Mrs A. Macdonald’s home, Waimana. There was a very good attendance, and Mrs Wylde presided. Mrs L. King gave the reading for the day* how to get Lachanalias to multiply quickly. The growing of Hyacinths was discussed. The schedule for the Institute Spring Show was . drawn up. The day’s competitions drew good entries, Mrs Perry and Mrs Macdonald acting as judges: ■ Best flower: Mrs M. King 1, Mrs Hewitt 2, Mrs Whiteman 3. Best vegetable: Mrs M. King 1, Mrs Whiteman 2, Mrs Hewitt 3. Jug of flowers foj- effect: Mrs Hewitt 1 K Mrs R. White 2, Mrs T. King 3. After afternoon tea, Mrs Wylde thanked Mrs Macdonald for the use of her home, also the hostesses and judges, which closed the meeting.
