THE NEW PARTY
Sir, —According to the latest news, another political party is being formed by a certain Mr A. J. H. McClay. It is to be called the N.Z. Liberal Party. At Wellington Mr McClay stated that there is a widespread dissatisfaction with the economic legislation of this country, to draw a smoke screen over the and that it, the “Liberal *Earty” is trail of those economic errors associated with party political legislation. You have from both sides of the House declared Liberals, so beware!,. Would any one contradict me when I suggest that the electors of this country only go to the polls for a dog fight, and it is not getting them anywhere, except for increased taxation and restrictions. Power to rectify this state of things can be accomplished! Ratepayers, form Associations! Why not public meetings of electors? To control, and vote for, members who will consult the will of the people, and who are not to be influenced by foreign economists, who are the instigation of “booms and slumps”, which can be overcome! . . . When you take action! A vote with an open cheque is useless. Yours etc., W. BRADSHAW.
