Cricket At Edgecumbe: Move To Re-Form Club
Several would-be cricketers have convened a meeting tomorrow night in the Edgecurhbe Tea Rooms in an endeavour to re-form the Edgecumbe Cricket Club. It has been reported that in his youth Bradman used to practice for hours against his back fence and this practice started him on his road to fame. -'With all the fences available around Edgecumbe there is plenty of scope for enthusiastic young cricketers to commence their career there. At present it appears as if the re-formation of the club is assured, as prospective members are coming along very day. From enquiries it is assumed that the hockey grounds at the Domain will be available for play/ and it is rumoured that of late many good cricket strokes have been witnessed on the hockey field. All gear will have to be purchased and a small amount of money is available from the previous club. The strength and success of any club is determined by the enthusiasm and support of all its members and the conveners anticipate a full attendance of all interested to give support.
