£7Ol Raised For Gisborne Health Camp
As a result of the: health stamp campaign in the Gisborne district last year, the Gisborne health campfunds will benefit by £7Ol, it was reposed at a meeting of the Health Camp Committee last week. The district originally only extended as far north as Opotiki 7but Whakatane .is now included. Further sums from Wairoa and Whakatane stainp sales wijl bring this total to approximately £BSO. It was reported that all signs of flood damage to the grounds of the health camp had been cleared away. Children were still being brought to the: camp and all showed a definite improvement in health at the- finish of their term. At’ present 24 children were in the camp, but it was expected that the full complement of 28 would be made up within the: next few days. Of the children at present in the camp, 18 were from the East Coast and the rest from the vicinity of Gisborne. They will remain in the camp for six weeks:
