Edgecombe District Cubs Celebrate Fourth Birthday

The Edgecumbe Cub pack celebrated their fourth birthday in the Presbyterian Hall, Edgecumbe, last week. Scouts and -Cubs from Whakatane, Thornton, Awakeri and Edgecumbe attended the combined concert-social. In the concert programme • very good -efforts were made by the Cubs. The success. of the evening was due to the excellent organisation of the controlling body headed by Scoutmaster Fraser. Mrs Malpas was responsible for *the organisation and control of the Cubs section of the programme. The County Commissioner, Mr C. Kingsley-Smith, presented service stars to a number of Scouts and Cubs from around the district and he congratulated them and their masters on the fine way they had progressed. :
