“CLEANER FOOD” CAMPAIGN BY BRITISH WOMEN
Several hundred thousand housewives are busy all over Britain collecting evidence for their own “cleaner food” campaign. When they buy their rations they note how food is kept and served—whether, it is protected against dust and flies. And when having a meal out they will inspect crockery, ' knives and forks and, where possible, washing and cooking arrangements. Some will meet medical officers of health and shopkeepers to discuss what can be done to improve food standards. Responsible for the campaign are the National Council of Women and the National Federation of Women’s last flutes. The council has asked its members for evidence for a comprehensive report which it is planning to send to the Government.
