Summer Sports Looming: Tennis Club Makes Plans
With the announcement that the annual meeting of the Whakatane Lawn Tennis Club takes place tomorrow night, one wakes to the fact that summer sports will soon again be with us. In wishing the Tennis Club a bumper annuel meeting and a successful season, the “Beacon” takes this opportunity of suggesting to all sports organisations that they appoint press liaison . officers to keep us as closely as possible in touch with all district sports affairs. We are glad to give the space to help all sports along, but, shortstaffed as we are, we'cannot always gather all the information we would like to publish.
